    # J-01 Necklace & Matching Earrings  with Sue Young

    This beaded necklace will include a dichroic pendant and matching beaded earrings. Learn how to bead a necklace using flexible beading wire and how to add a clasp using crimp beads. All supplies and tools will be provided.

    Explore the fundamentals of drawing while experiencing and recognizing your individual emerging style. Study and apply design elements of art. Respond to visual stimuli through careful observation and repeated practice while experimenting with traditional drawing tools: charcoal; conte’ crayon; pencils; and pen and ink. A model will be used for the figure studies section. All materials are supplied. Drop-ins are welcome any Friday at a pro-rated cost of $15 for members; $18 for non-members.

    # PT-01 Introduction to Painting with Water-Mixable Oils  with Al Harris-Fernandez

    This is a basic painting course intended for the beginning painter. Techniques of using paint and brushes will be discussed, demonstrated and experienced during the class. Emphasis will be on basic color theory and composition. Each lesson students will work toward producing a finished painting. A more specific materials list is available at the Visitor’s Service desk. Students should bring brushes of various sizes and canvases of preferred sizes. This class is available for staff development or graduate credit for teachers through AEA

    # PT-03 Intermediate Painting with Water-Mixable Oils  with Al Harris-Fernandez

    The focus of the class will be on composition and fundamental elements of painting (value, color and intensity). This course is designed for students with some level of experience and those interested in working with non toxic water-mixable oils such as the brand Duo.     Bettina is known for encouraging experimentation with traditional techniques and applications, while also promoting spontaneity in responding to the work as it progresses. Inspiration for paintings is based on direct observation (including landscapes, figures and still-life objects) or printed materials such as photographs and magazine reproductions. There will be an emphasis on studying the principles of design and collage techniques. This is a four-hour class each day, so bring a brown-bag lunch along with your painting supplies. Watercolor paper is available for purchase. A materials list is available at time of registration. This class is available for staff development or graduate credit for teachers through AEA.

    Join an in-depth investigation exploring the intricacies and processes of creating outstanding digital photographs.
