The ArtSplash~Festival of the Arts invites artists to apply for its 15th annual juried art show, held August 29 - 31, 2008, on the manicured grounds of the Sioux City Riverfront. Artist incentives include a $20,000 purchase patron program and $6,250 in cash prizes. Completed application, together with CD containing three digital images of representative work and one digital image of booth, must be postmarked by March 31. Questions? An exclusive pre-festival event, the Friday evening exhibit opening and reception, is presented as a special thanks to sponsors, donors who have contributed at least $100 to the festival, and purchase patrons. The art exhibits will be open on August 29 from 4 to 8 pm, allowing those attending the event to have “first look” at the booths of unique artwork created by talented artisans from all over the country. Delicious appetizers and a cash bar will be available during the reception, which will begin at 5 pm in the Mildred E. Anderson Pavilion. A silent auction will feature artwork donated by the exhibiting artists and a number of other valuable items. General admission for this premier, pre-festival event will be on sale at the gate for $25 per person.
