Guilio di Antonio Bonasone

Guilio di Antonio Bonasone (Julio Bonasoni, or Buonasone) was born in Bologna, Italy in around 1498, and died in Rome around 1580. He studied painting with Lorenzo Sabbatini. He was one of the most successful engravers in Rome during the High Renaissance, and was mentioned as such in Giorgio Vassari’s Lives of the Painters.
