Junior League Hands-On! Gallery

The Junior League Hands-On! Gallery is an interactive gallery for children (and adults) to experience the fascinating world of the visual arts. The 1,800 square foot gallery offers visitors a hands-on opportunity to explore four general, formal qualities of art: line, color, shape, and texture.

Visitors are invited to create animation with the zoetrope; learn about balance while hanging charms on a large metal armature; assemble shapes to re-create works of art; construct an ever-changing sculpture on a six-foot Lego tower; match physical senses of sight and touch to artists’ portrayals of texture; create landscape, still life, portrait, or abstract imagery using wood or magnetic shapes; and generate artistic designs on one of three computers.

The Junior League Hands-On! Gallery is a great place for Art Center visitors to explore, touch, learn, and have fun with the visual arts.
