For the novice or the experienced, this class is a fun, hands-on approach to forming, decorating, glazing and firing clay objects. The hand-built clay techniques use pinch, coil, press molding and slab construction. The potter’s wheel will also be introduced with instruction on centering and building the various parts of a vessel. Instruction adapted to individual skill. Equipment and tools are provided; however, students are responsible for purchasing their own bag of clay for $20.00. This price includes use of glazes and underglazes, and two firings (bisque and glaze). If additional clay is needed, students may purchase 10 pounds of recycled/pugged clay for $5.00.
Any clay used in the studio must be purchased at the Art Center.
