Julie Blackmon has lived her entire life as part of a large family in Springfield, Missouri. She uses photography to create amusing and poignant views of family life at home. Quirky, dreamlike and brightly colored, yet maintaining an odd sense of reality, her works tell brief, open-ended stories of what we might imagine could be happening just outside of our peripheral vision or while we blink.
