The Gilcrhist Foundation is a major supporter of the Art Center.
Since the early 2000s the Foundation has awarded funds to underwrite projects, including:
- Investing in the Art Center Association of Sioux City’s endowment
- Underwriting major exhibitions as the principal sponsor of the Blockbuster Partnership
- Providing the naming gift for the Art Center’s planned Gilchrist Learning Center
- Providing a significant matching grant for the same project
- Providing support for the purchase of significant artworks for the Art Center’s Permanent Collection
